24 Drawer Storage Unit

This weeks post I wanted to show a project that I am working on.
I got this 24 drawer storage unit and LOVE IT!!!

This unit took me only an hour to put together.  Gina makes these organizational units so easy to put together and use.  I started out thinking that I would just put it together and use it but decided to decorate it up somewhat.  But then the more I looked at it the more I like it just with paper on the drawer fronts.  I did use distress ink on all the papers.
The unit is about 13 3/4 inches tall and 11 1/4 inches wide by 3 1/2 inches deep.  Each of the drawers are 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 x 1 3/8, they are very nice size drawers for all those little trinkets.

Thanks for stopping!

Prima Picket Fence Clock

Hello ladies, when I saw this picket fence clock I was super excited to alter this.  I gave the fence a weathered paint look with a crackle technique.  I painted the slates with 2 coats of flat black paint, then added my crackle medium.  Once it was dried I added vintage ivory acrylic paint and then added black distress ink to all the edges.

I added a birdcage, which I manipulated to give it some dimension.  I pained it with snow tex for  more dimension and added a very small flower to the top.  I also inked it slightly with black distress ink.

The clock face I used Prima paper along with the base of the fence.  The numbers on the clock I painted with black ink, then used my finger to added gesso to make the numbers pop.  I also added gesso to the clock hands to make them stand out more.

The flourish details I inked with 2 different distress inks, Crushed Olive and Forest Moss.  Then again using my finger to add gesso for dimension.  I then added several flowers from my stash to finish it off.

I just love the way this came out!  Thanks for stopping and have a crafty day!

"You Make Me Smile" Card and Gift Box

This week I have done 2 projects.
The first is a simple card.
I used kraft colored cardstock and some vintage pattern paper from my stash.
I then added a doily to the side of the card.  I inked the edges with distress ink.  I made some flags from the vintage paper and added them to the right top corner.
I took the sentiment "You make me Smile" and embossed it with black embossing powder.  I added a dew drop from The Robins Nest to the "i" to make it stand out.
I also added more of the dew drops to the bottom right corner.  I took the other half of the doily and added it to the inside of the card.  I then added some flowers from my stash to the bottom left corner.  I inked all the paper and cardstock with distress ink.

My next project is a gift box with mini book charm.  I made the box from kraft cardstock.  I wrapped vintage pattern paper and some lace around the middle of the box.  I inked the box and paper with distress ink.
I then added some flowers from my stash along with a vintage dressform.
I made a mini book charm that hangs from a lobster claw clasp, which I attached to a book mark style tag.  I added beads and a charm to the chain and also added some lace and a metal flower to the front of the book.

I just love how these 2 projects just go together.

Vintage Note Cards

Do you ever just need a simple but lovely note card to send with a gift.  I know I do from time to time.  So I decided to make some vintage note cards.  These are simple but very easy to make 3 x 3 note cards.

I started with some kraft colored cardstock and added some vintage looking pattern paper.  I added some vintage lace to the edge of each card.  I added vintage dressforms to each of the cards, I just used some gesso to enhance the look of the dress forms.  I then made a punched flower with a flat back pearl to the center of each one.  I didn't add any sentiment to the cards, I can do that when I send each one of them out.

Thanks for stopping by!
